From Chaos to Connection—Parenting That Feels Right

Hi Reader,

The Wild Child Parent Coach

Welcome to the first Wild Child Parent Coach newsletter.

The name and look may be fresh, but the heart of what I do hasn’t changed. More than ever, I believe our children don’t need to be fixed or tamed.

They need to be seen, understood, and guided.

Do you ever feel like you're raising a “wild child”?

To me, wildness isn’t something to fear—it’s where your child’s natural spirit lives: bold, curious, passionate, and free. But I know it can also show up as something really hard to manage.

Maybe your child becomes explosive or shuts down in loud or unfamiliar places. Maybe their emotions are so big—anger, anxiety, shame—that you’re never quite sure what will happen next.

You walk on eggshells. You dread birthday parties, family outings, or even just the school run. You and your partner clash over how to handle it—or maybe you’re carrying it all alone and running on empty.

And in the thick of it, it’s easy to forget:

This “wild” energy is just a tiny human with a young brain, trying to make sense of a world that feels too much.

Here’s what I want you to know:

💛 No child is too wild to be understood.
💛 Change doesn’t come from punishment — it comes from compassion.
💛 "Bad behaviour" is never the real problem — it’s a message, and it needs someone willing to listen.

💛 Around 20% of parenting is knowing what to do... the rest is actually being able to do it!

Behind every outburst or shutdown lies a deeper story—fear, overwhelm, grief, or unmet needs (hello, hanger!).

Our first job isn’t to stop it or shut it down. It’s to understand it—to make it make sense, both for them and for us.

When we take a moment to make sense of our own reactions, we’re better equipped to help them understand theirs.

Only then can we support both of us in riding the emotional wave—without letting our own emotions fuel the storm.

With the right support—understanding what’s going on beneath the behaviour, how your child experiences the world, and what helps them feel safe—you can respond with calm and clarity. You can be the steady presence they need when everything feels overwhelming.

These kids thrive with clear boundaries, predictable routines, realistic expectations… and a safe adult to help them navigate it all.

So whether your child is sensitive, spirited, anxious, or simply struggling…
There is nothing “too much” about them. And there is nothing wrong with you.

I’m here to remind you:

You are the parent your child needs.

And you can do this—with support, intention, and the right tools.

Love

Fiona
