Hi Reader,
🌳 Welcome to this week’s Rooted Reflection — a little pause in the madness to come back to what matters most.
This week has been beyond hectic.
Every year, I swear I’ll be more organised after last year’s stress fest… and yet, here we are. I’m still the mum carving a pumpkin at 6am on competition day, raiding the piggy bank for school disco money, and grabbing bin bags full of Haribo on my way home from the school run.
Add in football training, evening appointments, and the daily juggle of family life... and by Saturday, I was absolutely done.
And looking ahead? Bonfire night. A 7th birthday. Plans every weekend. Christmas creeping up on the horizon. There’s so much I could do to make life easier for myself… yet I don’t.
This morning, I finally dropped my next podcast episode - an incredible conversation with Rachel C-K, a woman whose story has stayed with me ever since we recorded the interview a few weeks back. You can find her over on Instagram, but honestly, you’ll want to hear her voice first.
Rachel shares how a breast cancer diagnosis became the start of a deeper awakening. Because when she discovered her cancer wasn’t genetic, she realised just how much more influence she had over her own wellbeing than she’d ever imagined.
She talks about reclaiming control — of her environment, her energy, her mood, and even her relationship with her son. It’s one of those conversations that makes you stop mid-scroll and ask:
Where in my own life am I just accepting the pressure, instead of choosing something different?
Because, as Rachel reminds us: it all starts with us.
We can’t control everything (and I’ll probably still be wrapping Christmas gifts as Santa flies past the window 🎅), but we can take small, intentional steps that bring us back to what matters. Our values, our wellbeing, our connection.

I hope you enjoy!
